throwback thursday. van morrison is one of those artist you will never hate. his smooth rhythm and distinct vocals make him one of the most recognized artists to ever pick up a guitar. today, sit back and relax to one of my favorite tunes.

the feelings disappear, you are someone else, i am still right here.
i think this is the first time i have looked forward to throwback thursday…
after hearing another cash song earlier this week, i immediately knew i was gonna post this song. though “hurt” is not as old as some of his other songs, it still has that classic johnny cash feel. just so much emotion in every aspect of this song. the man is such a legend and should have been featured as a throwback way back when we started doing this.

somewhere beyond the sea…
so this is probably one of my favorite songs of all time. bobby darin’s vocals are so smooth and the accompaniment is so light and fun that its hard not to picture yourself on an island when hearing this tune. it’s just one of those songs that puts me in a good mood no matter what. i’m actually appalled at myself that i haven’t posted this already, but here it is. happy throwback thursday.
one more day and im on spring break…

throwback thursday time…
we have featured mr. long island a few times before and i couldnt think of a better person to get u amped up for the weekend than the legend himself. it is hard to pick just one billy joel song to post because he has so many great ones. “only the good guy young” is one of my personal favorites and though its has a dark meaning it is an unbelievable song that some how gets you in a pretty good mood. the man is a true talent.

we’ve posted an mj throwback thursday before, but i’m pretty sure we’re due for another one. human nature was the fifth single off the king of pop’s thriller album and while it did pretty well on the charts, the real success came from his live performances of the track. granted, mj was a performer. period. but, when he did this song with the robot - it was something else [youtube it].

thought i would slow it down for this throwback thursday with some smashing pumpkins’ “disarm”. i can remember rocking out to these guys back in middle school. these guys were a huge part of the grunge scene back in the 90’s and carried that momentum into the early 2000’s. bands like this are what is missing from rock today

throoooowback thursday. now, this song is screaaaaming for a nice little remix. but, until that happens, we have to love it for the oldies jam that it is. the shirelles have 2 songs on the greatest hits of all time list and are considered to be the first girl group to crack the billboard top 100 if not the first girl group…ever. this song was not their most popular, but i know you all know it.
there’d be days like this my mama said.

my heart goin’ boom, boom, boom
don’t have to say much for this one. great tune that always puts a smile on…

it’s throooowback thursday and jen and claire are at it again. we’ve featured the jane doze on here once before and i think we’re due for another doooze of these mashup masterminds…who also appear to be two very fun girls. this time they’re coming at you with some seriously heavy hitting 80s pop tracks from the likes of whitney and belinda - just in time for your nye playlist too. if this song isn’t blasting at your party…you’re not maximizing the potential of your party. period. this song will for sure escalate anything you have going on.
on the other hand, if you want to avoid putting a whole in your downstairs neighbor’s roof, the girls have a nye gig that will be sure to rage into the new year.
go show some <3.

throwback thursday
its december first and i think winter is finally here. found this song in my itunes while looking for something else and had to go with it. just one of those timeless early 90’s jams that is guaranteed to heat up your party. just your classic 90’s rap

nice & smooth. this may be borderline throoooooowback, but the album release was 1991…that’s almost 11 [update: 21] years ago. despite that, i first heard these guys and this track in high school and remember being absolutely hooked. they have such a clever flow and it’s just so…nice….and so…smooth. ha. but seriously, these guys had (have) some serious talent - so much so, that de la soul emulated them on the track, ‘simply havin’, on the aoi: bionix album and tupac nearly signed them to his makaveli label back in the day. he recorded tracks with them too.
