somewhere beyond the sea…
so this is probably one of my favorite songs of all time. bobby darin’s vocals are so smooth and the accompaniment is so light and fun that its hard not to picture yourself on an island when hearing this tune. it’s just one of those songs that puts me in a good mood no matter what. i’m actually appalled at myself that i haven’t posted this already, but here it is. happy throwback thursday.
one more day and im on spring break…

throoooowback thursday. now, this song is screaaaaming for a nice little remix. but, until that happens, we have to love it for the oldies jam that it is. the shirelles have 2 songs on the greatest hits of all time list and are considered to be the first girl group to crack the billboard top 100 if not the first girl group…ever. this song was not their most popular, but i know you all know it.
there’d be days like this my mama said.

So I know this vid is running the course right now, but saw it on gmad and had to post. g-eazy is an artist out of cali and currently at college in new orleans. this new vid is an intentional leak from an upcoming mixtape, The Endless Summer, out august 9th. the album is supposed to sample different tunes from the 50’s/60’s era. definitely a unique spin among today’s average mixtape so ill be keeping on it.

artists these days come up with some incredible ways to take a classic track and make it their own. but, in an age of endless remixes and mashups - there are still those songs that are perfect just the way they are. sing it, etta.
