i have been posting a lot of progressive/electro tracks lately and thought i would change it up a bit with this super chill song from broken for free (brainchild of tom cascino). in the oakland native’s latest release “the gold lining” he starts off with a pretty simple beat, then introduces a great set of guitar cords, just when you think the song has set itself, tom introduces a more complex beat, with a snare/drum/high-hat combo and some subtle vocals to create an amazing track. the song never gets too aggressive, has no big drops, no glitch, just an all around great chillwave track. broken from free will be releasing an ep next month and if this song is any indication of what the rest of the release is gonna sound like, i am 100% in.
