hi all.  the boys at ho:wo have graciously allowed a lady into their midst, so here i am, making my first blog post.  this artist (aptly named for the first female appearance with ho:wo) is purity rings and their debut album, shrines, is killer.  the duo, megan james and corin roddick, originate from canada and remind us that our friendly neighbors to the north have quite a bit to offer.  their snythpop style offers sweet beats, which at times have me reminiscing about hip-hop of days past, that are mixed with james’ ethereal voice with touches of auto-tune in just the right spots.  i’ve totally been digging their freshman album and i hope you do, too.
