if it wasn’t for that dirty dirty cypher 2.0 vid that came out for the 2011 bet hip-hop awards, i wouldn’t know the name yelawolf.  but, i do now and i think his flow is quite tight.  and, because of this song, i also now know the smooth vocals and singing/songwriting ability of ed sheeran.  there’s a great story behind this kid from the uk, who apparently has toured with, opened for, and/or otherwise collaborated with a whole handful of big names:  just jack, cee-lo green, nizlopi and soon you can add snow patrol to that list (their upcoming march-may 2012 u.s. tour). but, at one point, this kid was spotted by none other than jamie foxx while playing gigs and open mics in l.a.  since then his hit track, ‘the a-team’, was named the highest-selling and highest-charting debut track of 2011.  pretty cool.

oh yeah, this is just the first release from their upcoming collaboration, ‘slumdon bridge’, which will most definitely be on my list.
