tango p.i, an openly OUT artist in the san diego area, dropped his 14-track mixtape, black in the rainbow, back in december 2011. the whole thing is a combination of different sounds…rock, hip-hop, dubstep, but the first track that grabbed my attention was forever zulu [featured above]. the use of the flute gives it this snake charmer-like vibe…it’s so seductive that it literally moves my head for me. on top of that, tango lays down a pretty aggressive flow, which i find to be a surprisingly complementary juxtaposition. if you dig forever zulu, you have to check out my other favorite track, tiffany.
